As Jack Bauer would say: "There is no time!!!"

Every time I get on the internet I mean to blog, but then I start checking other stuff and it just doesn't happen. Just so you all know we are doing fine, eating well and will be in India till the 9th or so. Will truly try to post a real blog soon.

Update

Happy Diwali everyone!!! Do these people ever know how to celebrate, all night long fireworks, explosions makes it a bit hard to sleep.

We are in Jaipur, it is the capital of the state of Rajasthan. It is better than Delhi and Agra, less crowded and just nicer people in general. We got picked up by a nice guy who we paid to drive us around to see the sights in Jaipur.

First we went to Amber Fort. Had to hike up a small mountain to get to the fort. Inside the fort is like a maze of passage ways and what not. We got a bit lost and wandered into an area that is off limits. We were in that area for about 10 min until we were directed out.

Above Amber Fort is Jaigarh Fort which is another 20 min vertical hike. Only one other person was making the climb. When we got there it seemed deserted except for the guards. Until we went into a courtyard and found a whole parking lot and cafes and what not.

Saw the largest wheeled cannon in the world. The barrel is 20ft long. BFG

Saw the Water Palace. As you can see the lake is taking over.

Went to a textile mill and picked out some clothes for Vanessa.

Had some Thalis in the Pink City.

Went back and slept for a long time.

Its been a week or so.

It is Tuesday, we have done a bunch of stuff in the last week. Even took a few pictures but those will follow. Here are some highlights.

Plane to Abu Dhabi, was very nice even though the kid behind me kept kicking my seat, and when he wasn't his mom was. Watched several movies on that flight, Brothers Bloom (I liked it I just thought it would have one more turn) Terminator (good but I didn't agree with the end decision), State of Play (O look at how wonderful the media is!!!! and since I played a role in it you should trust my political advice) Transformers 2 started it but didn't get to finish it.

Saw the fjords of Norway from the camera underneath the plane. They also let you see what the pilot sees during take off and landings.

The plane to New Delhi smelled like curry, mainly because they served it on the plane. Movie selection was not so good so I watched Ghosts of girl friends past (not sure what I was thinking.... it was late or early.... not sure) and My life in ruins (which had its moments)

Arrived as the sun was coming up. Got our bags went to the motel and slept all day.
Woke up at 9 pm, went to the rooftop cafe and had some mutton curry, garlic nan, and ginger honey lemon tea all very nice. And then went to bed again.

Work up at 3 AM bored out of our minds but forced ourselves to stay in bed.

6 AM or so turned on the TV to see the Twins give up a 2 run lead in the 9th.

We have spent most of the time going around town seeing stuff, it is everything people have described, dirty, beautiful, busy, crazy..... the list goes on.

The most annoying thing is the people that come up to you talk to you and then as you part tell you to go to a tourist office. That is the only reason that they talk to you, and their info is always with the intent to device you. They tell you that the government train ticket office is bad and that they just take your money but that is the exact opposite of the truth. The stand in front of the government office and yell at you to go to a different place. The guide book warns us of this and they were dead on.

Food has been good, will blog about that when we post pic.

Lets finish up with some Yes No.

Yes to Etihad airlines best ever. Massive amount of entertainment.

No to their headphones, half of the pop in your ears when you mess with the plug in.

Yes to the food in India.

No to getting a vegetarian meal on the plane.

Yes to Having cable in the room.

Yes to getting ESPN Asia.

No to the Twins choking in the last two games.

No to the lack/no coverage of the NFL, the only coverage that is even close is the TMZ talking about Vick, or the up coming moves any given Sunday and the replacements.

Yes to Chi Tea off the steet.

Yes to this internet 2.5 MBPS not too shabby.

Well that was some stuff. More will follow.

Getting started

We have been packing all day. There is so much to do you can't just walk away from your life. So many things to cancel.

Our packs are mostly packed, they weigh about 25 lbs or so.... that seems to be about right, but I am sure that we will find plenty more to add.

Must finish soon before the game starts.

...

A few hours later...

Game didn't pan out like I wanted it to. What can you do. (Vanessa's happy though.)

Have to wake up to go to the bus station in 5 hrs.

Guess I will go to sleep.
